Engagement Anniversary

So yes, amongst all the paperwork and moving business, we remembered our engagement anniversary! February 11, 2011 Kase proposed to me in an extremely thoughtful way with an eventful night. He did a FANTASTIC job! We took a picture of our engagement anniversary. Cheesy, I know....of course, it was my idea. And just to point out, he is down on one knee :)

There are all the little mementos (or representations) we have from the night still:

The CD is filled with some love songs that remind us of each other - he played that in the car the night he proposed. He also had an extra copy in the house where he proposed, so we got to dance to one of the songs right before he popped the question.

The lighter represents the big fire message-in-a-frame he built for me. He made a huge frame with chicken wire in it and shirts ripped up, soaked in oil, and tied on the chicken wire spelling out I love (heart) U. It went up in flames as he proposed. VERY COOL. Side note: he now says that the chicken wire was a representation of things to come in our marriage....aka CHICKENS!

The copper ring is the ring he tried to make for me out of the penny we found in the turkey's gizzard that we killed for Thanksgiving a few months before he proposed. Apparently it's quality wasn't quite high enough for Kase's standards to actually propose with it. So the ring he is holding is the one he proposed with. His sister Laryn gave it to him for Christmas as a hint to get on with it...ha. Luckily he had it so he had a ring to propose with!

The papers with blue ribbons are a scavenger hunt afterwards that we went on, taking me to a bunch of places that were memorable to us and our relationship. The blue ribbon originated when Kase gave me a gift while we were dating with this blue ribbon tied to it. So we continually gave each other gifts with this blue ribbon tied to it. One of the places we went in the scavenger hunt was here, which we also attended that night:

The candle, strawberries, chocolate, flowers (yes, the original ones - he dried them for me!), and picture were all items that were waiting for us at his house as our last stop of the scavenger hunt. The entire house was filled with 200ish candles lining walkways and rooms, flowers, chocolate fondue, pictures, and some more memorabilia of our relationship.

A beautiful engagement! And here is the link of the fire part:

HAPPY ONE YEAR ENGAGEMENT ANNIVERSARY, KASE! The most creative proposal I've ever heard of - he's got an imagination like no other and I love it!
