You Go Girl!

Congratulations to my talented sister, Brooke Romney. She made the basketball team at BYU and I couldn't be more happy for her! Her height and skills will be a great asset to the team, and she will have a hard but wonderful experience. As Dad would say, "YOU GO GIRL!"

Her announcement on Facebook:
Say hello to the newest member of the BYU women's basketball team!! Hollaaaa

 Look at that D!
 Famous?

Heeeyy, covergirl!!

So fun! I'm so glad she gets to do this! She was originally more into volleyball than basketball but when she moved to Mexico, they didn't have volleyball so she defaulted to basketball. It also helped that Coach Judkins (the BYU Womens basketball coach) son served in the same mission mom and dad were over. Those connections always help! I know it's not easy moving in high school to a foreign country, and even though Monterrey is very Americanized, she left the school and life she had seen all her siblings live and always dreamed of eventually doing. But she did awesome, as always. Got to learn spanish, have A LOT of testimony and faith building experiences, and got an in with the basketball coach. Coach has said that he has seen a lot of improvement with her, considering the lack of competition in Mexico. I got to watch her practice once but never play :( maybe one day!

And amongst all this, I realized that every member of our family has done something extra and fun in college (at BYU) except Blake and I.

Brandon - baseball team
Brad - Men's Chorus
Blake and Me - ?
Bryce - Men's Chorus
Brooke - basketball team

I decided that Blake married Erika who played rugby for UVU (HAHAHAHAHAHAHA wow....that still cracks me up every time I think about it) even though she wouldn't allow him to come to her games, :) and Kase played football for a semester, so we are still winners. We just married into it :) I tried out for the Hip Hop dance team because a friend wanted to try out and convinced me into it. In our minds, we TOTALLY should've made it, not a question. We told ourselves it was all about politics because we were way better than the girls that made it. They were probably better, and we were a little bitter/prideful. Ha. I just look back on that and laugh. But now we have Kioa on the Wells side of the family who dances, so that's covered now :)

We got this gem on Christmas from Brooke:
