Snowed In

In the middle of March, we got a HUGE snowstorm here in Flagstaff. Well, bigger than I've ever seen. We had planned on going down to the valley that weekend (March 16 - 18) for my cousin, Jack's, homecoming from his mission. But Kase had been hearing on the radio, at work, the internet, and everywhere else that a huge snowstorm was coming. Even the valley was supposed to have really bad rain. So, after some prayer and a little disappointment on my part, we decided to stay. But we had a good time :)

It is pretty, though!
Flagstaff is lacking green, to say the least. This was in the parking lot, on the asphalt.

 haha
We attempted to sled, but the snow was too soft and fresh. It was a fail, as you can see. But we had fun :) Oh, and about a week before this, Kase was saying we should give those sleds to Goodwill since we hadn't ever used them. Glad we didn't! The best sledding was down the big hill of the entrance into our apartment complex.

Church actually got cancelled! That's how much it snowed. So Chef Kase taught me how to make pizza - yumm!

His masterpiece. We do half his toppings (the half with olives) and half mine.
Then he had me make another, all on my own. Terrible picture of me, but the pizza was really good!
Nothing better than ending it with sleeping by the fireplace. We pulled our mattress out and slept there. Such a fun weekend! We did so much more, but it's been so long I can't remember :(

And to top it all off, we were very glad we stayed in Flagstaff. Apparently the highway from Mesa to Flagstaff closed on Sunday from noon til Monday morning, meaning Kase and I would've had to stay in a hotel or something along the way on Sunday, or just stay in the valley an extra day. He doesn't have many vacation days to spare, so we are so glad we didn't get caught in it! Kase said his work was half empty that Monday. He did have to put chains on the car to get there, since the roads weren't great. I was secretly hoping it would be cancelled so he could work on homework or we could unpack more, but it wasn't. We sure enjoyed our snow weekend, though!
