24 Years Young

My birthday, March 31, I got spoiled for sure! First of all, 2 of my sisters-in-law decided to send me actual presents. Very unexpected and kind of them! I hope they don't feel they always have to send me gifts, but I definitely appreciated their generosity! I'm failing miserably at just sending cards to everyone on their birthday, and they sent gifts.

Makala made this apron for me! So cute!
And Taneil got this for me - I just gave away my other Texas Longhorns shirt because it was a little small, and am so glad I have a new one now :)
So Kase had been thinking of 2 options for me for presents. Either a coupon binder, or this cookbook on grilling and southern cookin'. I was torn. But since we don't have a grill yet,  I decided to go with the binder this year. And my other one was falling apart. This on is a Case It and one this coupon lady recommended. It has a bunch of pockets, is huge, and just perfect. Thank you, Kase!

The highlight, of course, was General Conference. Getting to hear our Prophet's speak is such a blessing. And modern day technology makes it available and even better, as we get to go back and review what they said. One of my favorite talks was about raising kids, and giving them the freedom and agency to learn from their own mistakes. We don't even have children, but I liked it :) Probably because I thought it would be good for KASE and I to hear. It is called "Only Upon the Principles of Righteousness" by Larry Y. Wilson of the seventy. We got to go out to eat at Chili's that night on a gift card we got from our wedding. All the phone calls, messages, emails, etc. Were wonderful! And of course, the extra cash from both sets of parents was very nice as well. Thanks to all who made it a wonderful day!

Kase isn't a big birthday person, but he decided, half way through the day, that even though I felt entitled to a perfect day (we probably shouldn't feel entitled to anything) that he would treat me like a Princess (not that he doesn't already...). I was glad he caught on, even though he himself doesn't understand why birthdays are anything special. But I think it's okay to have one day a year to feel a little different and special :)
