Normal Life in Flag

Guess I should take a post to talk about our normal life we were living. All I post about are the vacations, which are a lot of my life :) but here is what goes on a normal basis:

I work for Kase's friend he made at his second internship at Gore, named JB. He and his girlfriend came to our wedding too - we have been friends with him ever since he worked with Kase. He has his own vacation rental business now. The way I started working for him began with him being amazed at our storage room and buying groceries from me. Then we decided to have me stock his vacation rental homes (instead of him) with supplies and I could make profit off of it since I got the supplies for so cheap. Then I started cleaning for him and restocking. So that was cool. It was a nice little job and kept me busy.

I babysit for people in the ward. I did regular spurts with carpool and what not, and then just random ones. Mostly for the Dries and Mellens.

I try to go thrift shopping with Miranda and learn all her techniques. It slowed a little in the fall when she started home schooling her kids but she taught me some good stuff :) She buys stuff for super cheap and sells it for more on ebay. I've never gotten that into it but maybe one day? I can't do it without a smartphone though.....she will look up items on ebay at their going price while we are at the store and see if it's worth her buying and trying to resell.

We have a lot of people over to eat....which is fun. Coworkers, friends, missionaries, etc. It's good, we like it. It definitely takes a lot of prep and cleaning though.

And of course I coupon! In multiple ways (points, groceries, etc), but with the paper coupons I just follow one blog in particular and learn about all the deals. The lady on the blog will randomly post about when she or others had an awesome shopping trip. Whenever I come home from shopping I have a "report out" with Kase, which means I tell him how cheap I got everything. He is falling in love with me couponing. Like really. He used to dislike it because it would take all my time when I was first learning. Now he loves it. I told him about this trip and he told me I should take a picture and put it on the blog. So here we are:
Got all this for free at CVS. Or maybe I got paid for it? I can't remember. And then I get paid for the Dove soap from JB (I stock his vacation homes with it). So it worked out well. I love CVS! I get such great deals there. Such a rip off if you don't use coupons but if you know what you're doing, it's wonderful! A lady on the blog was saying she doesn't even shop at Walmart...she does CVS. I'm not quite there yet but I can see what she's saying!

I'm TRYING to help Kase graduate from BYU (he was almost done at the time....) so I basically did EVERYTHING else for our family. Easy enough, but I had to make him stop doing dishes for me and helping me out :( hoping it didn't ruin him forever! Poor Kase only gets to work and finish school. Sorry, bro.

I'm also trying to go through all our boxes of random stuff from our singles lives. I have a long ways to go but I've found some interesting stuff in Kase's...specifically checks that were never cashed and a big container of coins (along with gift cards, points cards, etc). I made some good money doing that :) Over $300 I think. I couldn't believe the checks still went through! One was a lost check that I had to reimburse after it went through, but I didn't include that in the $300. That boy.....

And I'm an Activity Days Leader, so I get to spend time with the girls ages 8-11 in our church twice a month on Tuesdays. They're a handful sometimes but it's fun :)

And that's life! Along with traveling, of course!
