The Polar Express

Realizing it was going to be our last Christmas season (for awhile or ever) in the Flagstaff area, we decided to go on this fun train ride called The Polar Express. A recent Disney movie came out called Polar Express so it’s a spin off that, giving each child their own Polar Express experience, going to the North Pole to see Santa Clause. Supposed to be super fun for kids. Kind of expensive too…but it was fun for the experience. The McCabe’s had already gone with some family, so we asked the Pypers if they wanted to come with us. We never get to do stuff with them although they are just a handful of fun and energy! We had so much fun!
Here it comes! And look at my handsome husband...did I get lucky or what!?

And did I mention that the movie takes place in the middle of the night (the train ride), so all the kids are in their PJ's? That might explain my attire :)

I promise there were more people there....I think we took this after everyone got off?

Kase said we may have been able to “feel the magic” a little more if we would’ve been alone, but I wasn’t looking to “feel the magic” as much as I was looking to have an enjoyable time with them. During the train ride you get hot chocolate, a cookie, and sing songs. The train leaves from Williams, AZ and goes to some place like 30 min away where Santa is, and then back again.  It's the same train that takes you to the Grand Canyon. At the "north pole," you see Santa outside with his sleigh, reindeer, etc. Then on the way back, Santa came onto the train, giving everyone a bell (a prop in the movie that only rings for those who believe).

Of course mine rang :)

Erik's not so much.... :)

There were many dressed up as characters in the movie. I believe this guy was the ghost bum guy...?

We took this picture with Santa and used it for our Christmas card pictures (the few we sent...). The first and hopefully last time (for awhile) that I’ll be doing Christmas cards!
It was a fun little experience. The cookie and hot chocolate may have been my favorite part :)
