At Aspen Grove, a wonderful family friend David Winters (who takes pictures for the church) took pictures for our family. He got a ton of good ones, and got shots of each individual family. I'm just going to do one of each :) These were all taken in July 2012
The official Family Picture of the Year. My mom got shirts from Mexico for all of us for a Mexican theme
The wonderful parents, Ella & Brent, who started it all!
My parents returned home from serving in the Mexico Monterrey West mission at the beginning of July. They have basically just been traveling ever since, making up for lost time with their family :) I REALLY want to put a book or something together of all my Dad's journals from their mission, so we can have all their experiences documented. They had some incredible experiences. I remember my mom not wanting to go before they left Dallas, but of course, neither wanted to leave Mexico to return. They said they only wanted to go see their kids/grandkids, and then wanted to go right back. Now they are empty nesters and both have had a difficult time adjusting to that as well as not being missionaries. Neither of them quite know what to do with themselves. My Dad had a job for a few days, but then decided he didn't like that. He is ready to retire. My mom isn't ready for him to do that quite yet :) But I personally think he will just do random stuff to make money for the rest of his life. It's great for them to be able to travel and enjoy the money they worked so hard to save.
Addison, Brandon, Brittani, Tate, Sage
They live in Gilbert, AZ where Brandon teaches Spanish and coaches at Corona del Sol High School. This year he did JV football and baseball. They had little Tate this year in April. Brittani went through in vitro again, as she did with the twins. They still had some of her eggs frozen from when she went through it to get the twins, so I guess it was much cheaper this time :) Brittani is a dental hygienist and works part-time (Thursdays and Saturdays). Sage and Addison turned 3 and their personalities are coming out more and more. This past year has been so fun being so close to them. We've had so much fun and have gotten to see their kids grow so much !
Henry, Brad, Carli
They live in Dallas in the apartments behind my parents house. They lived there while my parents were on their mission, watching over the house and the renters. Pretty sweet gig, living for free :) Brad worked as a consultant for Deloitte but quit around September. He NOW just landed a new job (in 2013...more details to come). Brad travels a lot for his job and has helped Kase and I with credit cards and earning miles to travel for much cheaper. Henry turned 1 this year. Carli adores staying at home 24/7 with Henry. Henry is a BIG boy and so fun to be around. He learned to walk this year, makes the funniest noises, has the funniest smile, and always wants to be put down to run around and just be a boy :)
Erika, Blake, Annie
They live in Lehi, Utah where Blake works for the City of Provo. Not completely positive what he is considered, but he does broadcasting (more specifically in sports, but also any community events). Erika worked as a server at the Spaghetti Factory and does an online blog for a boutique in Dallas called The Impeccable Pig that she used to work at. She spent the last 4 months of the year in Dallas living with her parents (and Annie, of course), doing some hands-on work for the Impeccable Pig because they needed a filler for 4 months. She is so glad that is over :) Annie learned to walk and is talking a little. She turned 1 this year. Hearing her say "Hi!" is the cutest thing, ever. She knows how to work an iphone better than I do. Such a sweet, easy-going, happy child!
And here we are. Not much more to say considering this whole blog is about us. But I guess some big events of the year were that we moved from Provo, UT to Flagstaff, AZ for Kase's job with Gore. He had what he would call his "dream job" and works with his best friend Ben McCabe. In October we accepted a different job with Toyota and will be moving to Mississippi for that near the beginning of 2013. Kase finally graduated with his undergrad in Engineering from BYU in December, and now we actually get to spend time together :) I'm just working odd jobs, babysitting, cleaning, stocking vacation rental homes, couponing, traveling :) We did quite a bit of travel this year. I loved every bit of it!
Bryce is quite the talented busy-body this year, as usual. He came home from his mission serving in Argentina in May and went straight to Mexico to be with my parents and Brooke. He did a bunch of EFY's when he got back, LOVING being a counselor for those. He started back at BYU in the fall, doing Men's Chorus again and a ton of fun classes (I guess you get to slack and do that when you had a million AP credits transfer to college credit and you're a Monson Scholar....). He found out he made it into BYU Jerusalem for Summer 2013 and was VERY excited about that (more news on those plans in 2013). He lives in the house my dad part-owns with some friends from freshman year at BYU and mission buddies. He is the epitome of what it means to enjoy life. Dating, fun classes, developing his talents, etc. Oh, did I mention he is in a band? Ha. Great example to us all!
Fruk (Brooke) graduated from American Foundation School Monterrey this year, where she was the basketball star and adored by ALL. She came home with my parents in July and has done all the traveling with them ever since :) More of those blog posts to come. She was accepted to BYU in the Fall and made the BYU Women's Basketball Team! Coach Judkins' son served his mission in my parent's mission, so that definitely worked to her benefit. She has really enjoyed it and Coach Judkins says he has really seen a lot of improvement. She didn't have much competition in Mexico, so now that she has some, it has done her some good. She is loving BYU. Got a random roommate in Helaman Halls but they get along great. I love it when she asks dating advice :) She is liking one boy, so we will see where that goes...
There we go. Romney Family 2013. The goal is to eventually put these at the END of the year. But since I'm so behind....this will have to do this time. More blogs on some of the info in here to come!
Oh, and we let David Winters use our photos for church purposes if they wanted them, and a picture of Carli and Henry made it on one of the church's websites. Not sure of the website or the picture anymore, but it was an area about photography and Carli was showing Henry her camera. It was cute.
