Our signed offer letter!
So Kase and I have been making some big decisions lately. He has 3 more classes left here at BYU to graduate, all of which are generals and offered online through Independent Study. We've had decisions as far as whether we should stay here and do part time school this semester, or go get a job now and finish online. We went ahead and started the interview process. We interviewed with a company in Spokane, Washington making carbon fiber airplane parts, a company in Salt Lake making nutritional supplements, and a company in Flagstaff, Arizona making medical products out of Goretex (a fabric they made). Kase has interned with the company in Flagstaff for 3 summers now - we were there this past summer together.
We had been thinking for some time that we would go to the company in Spokane, but weren't too stoked about being close to family. We want to end up close to family long-term, but wanted to have our own little adventure right now. After a time of fasting, temple-attending, and praying, we came to a conclusion. Or should I say, Kase felt calm and good about one of them - I was confused and leaning more toward a different one. I think my thoughts were a little more mental though.
"For whatever reason," as Kase would say, we decided to take the job in Flagstaff, Arizona. It is close to my family in Mesa, Arizona, so that is exciting for me. We are actually right in the middle of all of my family in Flagstaff but not close to Kase's. Not sure if that had anything to do with the decision-making or not, but Kase said it just felt right as a provider. It is the largest company, most secure, best benefits, highest salary (although that doesn't mean anything - the price of housing in Flagstaff is ridiculously high), and he knows people there in the company (and they want him). Just a few of the great benefits.
He will be an Industrial Engineer. He didn't even apply for that position (he applied for a leadership position), but they want to put to use his leadership and technical engineering skills. Apparently this job is the way to do both. One lady on the phone said they "made this job for him." Someone else said they had been looking for someone to fill this spot for a year. Either way, we are very blessed to have it. He will get to work with different teams and we think he will really enjoy it. He gets to work with his sponsor from this past summer, who he really likes.
Basically, we are counting our blessings! We got multiple offers and the Lord helped guide us to the right answer for us at this time in our lives. We are so very excited!
